My husband reads exclusively non fiction. He is really into sports stories and loves books about the human experience. He loved Into thin Air (Krakauer). He claims to hate Fantasy.
This year we are deciding to expose each other to our interests. So I’m looking for an audio book that I can have him listen to an hour or so of that he might like.
My first thought was Weirs Project Hail Mary, but I’m wondering if you all have suggestions.

Prefer an audio book so we could enjoy it together

Nothing too fantasy (dragons, swords, elves, are all too out there for him)

If it reads like a non fiction book of human grit, I think that’s what he would like the best.

Maybe red red rising by Pierce brown? Has a lot of themes of the indomitable human spirit and is a great sci fi series. The audiobook is great & there’s an alternate version with a full cast which is also fantastic. Only thing is that it’s a full ongoing series. But still worth a read in my opinion
