Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. If you loved Ghostwritten and The Gone World, this book should be in your list.
The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin. Since Contact, The Mountain in the Sea, and The Alchemist worked for you, Le Guin feels like a natural fit.
