For an upcoming vacation, I'm looking for some reading material that takes place in Africa for during the flights and in the evenings. Horror, thriller and more literary novels would be preferred.
Also it would be nice if animals played an important role.

Things Fall Apart
Heart of Darkness is the great book here. Also, have you read Cry, the Beloved Country, by Alan Paton?
