I am a reader. These last couple of years, maybe more, I have noticed that some of my favorite authors’ books are not the same quality as earlier books. The writing style is different, the sentence structure is different, the vocabulary is different. I am wondering if publishers make deals with successful authors to put their name on the books of new authors to increase sales and exposure. I am reading a book now and am frustrated because this book is so unlike the style of writing in previous books. It is as if this author did not write this book.

Which author? Oftentimes there’s ghostwriters. If they’re an ebook writer, they might have started using AI…
Writers also change over time. If it’s been years, it shouldn’t be a surprise if their style has changed as well. Editing rates have also recently been outsourced and undercut unfortunately.
