And I’m so sad to see it go. I’ve been really comforted by the details and tenderness of this story and found it cozy to read late at night in the winter. Admittedly, it has been ages since I finished a whole novel and I have loved every moment of this book. I’d love to keep momentum going. What should I try next? Doesn’t have to be completely similar but things I loved about A Tree Grows In Brooklyn: the coming of age theme, the beautiful internal world of the main character, and the setting (turn of the century Brooklyn tenements). What else might I like?

    1. Might want to check out Somerset Maugham books, any. I remember enjoying them about the same time I read Tree…

    2. The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker or maybe Forever by Pete Hamill (and I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith for a great book, different setting)
