Coming of age where character meets a group of cool people. Like Perks but more.

Think Perks of Being a Wallflower but with a different plot, maybe more emphasis on the group that changes the character or equal emphasis on external and internal. Ideally the friends are older and they're not exactly good role models so it's bittersweet. Even if it's nostalgia bait, I'm guilty.
