Preferably a modern novel but contemporary is ok too. Would also prefer a male protagonist or different POVs in the same story. I’m thinking something like the protagonist wakes up, they walk around their huge manor and it’s very quiet and empty (of people or action). Someone suggests they ride their horses or plan a ball but they’re bored of that. A butler asks what they want for breakfast but it’s always the same things. They walk out on the back porch (or whatever they would call it) and watch the gardeners tending to the grounds but it’s very unexciting. Maybe at some point they decide to change their lifestyle? Not sure where the story would go but that’s about how it would start. Thank you for any suggestions! Even if it is in a different time period/place.
