I am looking for recommendations on books that go into depth with the history of buildings and regions of Italy including art such as the colleseum, roman forum. What did people do there, notable historical events etc.
I am visiting a few months and want to know a bit before I go so I can truly appreciate what I am seeing and its history. I'm visiting rome, Venice, tuscany , Milan and naples. What do people recommend ? Thank you!
