This is going to be obscure, but that's what reddit is all about, right? Last year, we reorganized the home library by Dewey Decimal. No judgement – it works for us. I used LibraryThing to enter everything and lookup the numbers.

Then this year, I'm trying to get away from the apps. I have a mix of books already on my PC, plus audiobooks etc, that weren't getting captured, and LibraryThing doesn't really put books in order. I'm returning to a card catalog system on my computer.

I exported LibraryThing to Excel, and CoPilot offered to create individual text files for each book, names starting with DD numbers. It's fantastic. Now, all my books have cards in OneDrive, and I can see them on my phone when I'm sorting the shelves, and I can add any notes I want.

I'll probably pick a new system next new years day, like I do every year, but today it works great. Excited about it.
