Being Iranian, I wanted to bring something to the table from Iranian literature and recommend this book that I love to anyone who might enjoy a romantic comedy from a different culture.
My Uncle Napoleon is a story about childhood love, conspiracy theories, family feuds, and a collection of unique characters in Iran at the start of World War II.
This book has been banned in Iran from the time of the revolution (1978). It was made into a TV show before the revolution and is one of my comfort reads and comfort TV shows.

Thank you for the recommendation! I have an Iranian coworker and am looking forward to reading this and maybe discussing it with her (or, if she hasn’t read it, tell her she should read it too so that we can discuss it haha).
