I'm after something like The Mist, Pet Sematary, in short: a mystery that doesn't even have to been solved, subtle, no magical fairy dragon Harry Potter stuff but maybe supernatural still somewhat realistic.
M night Shaymalan like is great example.
Read most of Stephen King but goddamn am I not having luck with any quality works beside that m, thatI've looked at.
Most are so badly written or fall into Fantasy trope crap or just the heap of cliche crap done to death.
