I'm looking to do some more mindful reading this year, and want to bite into some old tried and tested classics. I'm looking for the sort of language that makes you pause in reflection or joy. Genre no real bar, and would like to diversify the gender/race of authors away from the usual mix.
So far I have Valley of the Dolls, Brothers Karamazov, and Middlemarch on my list. Would love to hear other suggestions, on books that really moved you and that I can add.
