Hello fellow bookworms! I have been reading some FABULOUS books lately (Red Rising Saga, The Salt Grows Heavy, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, etc.) but all of them are so dark and heavy that I find myself wanting a refresh before diving back into the grunge.
Don't get me wrong, I love meaty, dark, difficult books but having an easy read every now and again would be great. I'm open to any genre but particularly love speculative fiction, sci/fi-fantasy, and magical realism. Bonus points for sapphic subplots, found family, and/or solar punk vibe. No preference on stand alones vs. series.
It's been a loooong time since I read a light book but historically, I have enjoyed Song of Spiderman, Fangirl, Everything is Tuberculosis, The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, and even plays/scripts. Thanks y'all!

After i finished 3 body problem series i needed something light. ‘ Project hail Mary’ by andy weir was recommended and it was so good. Same with ‘we are legion, we are bob’ (bobiverse) by Dennis E Taylor.
Tailored Realities by Brandon Sanderson. Anthology of sf and fantasy short stories.
Outlaw Planet by M.R. Carey with sapphic themes.
Have a look at *A Spindle Splintered* by Alix E. Harrow. It’s a duology of very short books, they are funny but also pretty smart, and have the queer relationships you are looking for.
Ilona Andrews Innkeeper Chronicles –A magic Inn, space werewolves and vampires, a lot of really unique aliens, mystery, romance, action, a fun and humorous series
