Hiii! The title mostly explains it, but I'm an 18-year-old girl in my freshman year of college, and I really want to start reading more in the upcoming year. I slacked on my reading last year due to school, so I'm really looking forward to enjoying some new stories this year.
- I'm interested in realistic fiction.
- I'm not a big fan of romance
- I'm looking to expand my vocabulary and find better ways to explain myself with the help of literature.
- Interested in non-fiction; I'm pre-med, so books related to science, health, and whatnot interest me
Thank you; can't wait to read your suggestions.

For realistic fiction that’ll expand your vocab, definitely check out Khaled Hosseini’s stuff – The Kite Runner is incredible and his writing style is gorgeous without being pretentious
For the science side, “Being Mortal” by Atul Gawande is perfect since you’re pre-med and it reads like a novel even though it’s nonfiction. Dude’s a surgeon and an amazing writer so you get both perspectives
