I just finished Cultish by Amanda Montell & really enjoyed it. I agree with some reviewers that it was a little “surface level,” maybe just due to the many different types of cults & specific groups the author wanted to cover. However, I did learn a lot. But I want more! I am so fascinated by cults and have seen pretty much every cult documentary currently available on streaming. So I’m looking for more cultish book recs—about cults generally, specific groups, cult psychology, anything!!

    1. Uncultured by Daniella Mestyanek is a memoir telling her story of growing up in the Children of God, a particularly notorious cult known for its pedophilic treatment of children. She’s a fascinating individual who managed to break away as a third generation cult member

    2. Loved that book! And I am someone who loves MLMs and their cult like behaviour, I would recommend “Hey Hun!”
