Hi all, I’m (23F) looking to get into reading my first self help book and I want something that’s not just trenching but something that genuinely changed you mindset in life. I say this because I’m stubborn and don’t think reading any will genuinely affect me but I want to be proven wrong. I’m tired of being stuck in this cycle of not wanting to set new goals and staying stagnant. I feel like everything I’m interested in eventually gets old and I don’t stick with it. Heck this is what I think is happening with this post, I’m getting all invested now with the chance of soon being over completely caring about this. I want to be able to genuinely improve within myself, even simply with my thought process on myself and improving my confidence. I’ve seen all the posts online about this stuff but as a pessimist that is hopeless about this stuff I want any recommendations on what you seriously help change my mindset and habits in life.

Th power of concentration by Theron Q Dumont. Aka William walker Atkinson.
I should forewarn you that this book is written in a very clear easy to understand manor. It explains the concept, gives examples and then goes you exercises by which you can see the results for yourself.
The things explain a very simple truths that are overlooked by most to be unimportant due to the simplicity.
Just as the abc’s are a prerequisite to reading and writing, so is concentrating the foundation from which everything else is built upon.
What you truly seek is true happiness which really comes from self control.
One cannot help to control their world if they cannot first control themselves.
Start with concentration, master it.
Do this will give you a new found enthusiasm in life as you will start to notice life happens for you when you learn to concentrate.
There are many other life changing books I could recommend but this is the best starting point imo.
