Looking for books where the protagonist, throughout the course of the story, slowly becomes more unhinged.

As the title suggests I'm looking for novels that have a psychological element to them I'm not too picky on the genre but I'm looking for books where, through various reasons, the protagonist gets more and more "crazy" as the plot progresses.
