i've been really, really struggling these past few weeks.

i'm having a difficult time finding purpose and meaning right now. i usually have a very optimistic mindset but i feel as though i am getting hit left and right with trials, and it's left me feeling quite empty inside. i'm struggling very much so with pushing through this feeling, and i find myself just sitting in silence, mind numb.

if you have a book in mind, maybe one that helped you when you felt similarly, please send it my way.

also open to just receiving some kind words right now. i've been reaching out for help from friends and family and it seems as though i keep getting dodged. maybe its me.

if this post seems self-indulgent or something of the sort, please keep it to yourself. as i've previously stated, i am very much so struggling right now.

    thank you in advance 🙂

Hey, first off you’re not being self-indulgent at all – reaching out takes guts and you’re doing the right thing

For books, “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho is pretty cliche but honestly it hits different when you’re in a dark spot. Also “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl – dude literally survived concentration camps and wrote about finding purpose even in the worst circumstances

Things will shift, they always do. Keep pushing through even when it feels pointless

Even when it feels like everything is against you, every small step forward is still progress.

If you need a novel, I found “The Midnight Library” to be uplifting although the beginning is dark.

Alternatively, Story Sanctum has a number of short stories written by various authors. I’ve found the short stories there to be very uplifting.

I suggest reading “On the Shortness of Life” by Seneca, a Stoic philosopher. He has a famous quote: “A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.” He doesn’t say trials are fun, He says they are the only way to discover what you are truly made of.

The book has helped me immensely in difficult times. I hope it helps you too.
