Looking for a more sunny book to read as my next pick. I read sci-fi somewhat often, and maybe it's just what I'm reading but typically there are dystopian/horror/dark themes. I'm feeling interested in reading something more neutral to light-hearted (not strict, it's fine if the plot veers into darkness and probably best to create tension, but I'm talking the overall vibe).
Books I've read recently and my rating to get a sense of my taste. I tend to really love character-driven books, if I'm invested in the character then I could read all day.
Children of Time (4/5), The Fox Wife (4/5), Contact (3/5), All Systems Red (3/5), Shogun (5/5), Between Two Kingdoms (4/5), Convenience Store Woman (4/5), The Memory Police (3/5), The Grief Keeper (3/5), Parable of the Sower (4/5), Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow (5/5)
