Hi, I am looking for recommendations for a book to read over the next for months before/during a big move across the country. My husband and I have lived in Indiana our entire lives, but have decided to leave and move to CA, primarily for me to start a PhD program, but also to start a new chapter of our lives together. Leaving all of our friends and family will be tough but it’s a journey we are incredibly excited about. I would like to find a book, non-fiction, about major life transitions or moving. Something meditative, inspiring, motivational, etc. I come from a pretty tight knit community, so while it is very much needed, it will be a difficult transition in my life. The book could be just about anything, a memoir, poetry, motivational, whatever you got! Or maybe, even something about California specifically? Idk be creative I guess lol thank you all

    1. Cheryl Strayed’s “Wild” hits different when you’re about to make a huge life leap like that – it’s not exactly about moving but definitely captures that whole “holy shit what am I doing with my life” feeling in the best way possible. Plus she’s writing from the West Coast perspective which might give you some good California vibes
