I'm a huge fan of the classics and of more contemporary 'canonical' literature like Blood Meridian. I also like stories with complex, villainous, or unpleasant but compelling protagonists like Lolita and Frankenstein.
Most of the books I love have virtually zero relevant female characters. But specifically, I can't think of any classic or 'canonical' novels I've read that center complex/villainous female characters…
Does anyone have examples or suggestions? Thank you!
