I'm a 40F who never devoured books but I used to read a lot more than the 1 or 2 books I read a year right now and I want to reconnect with that. Most of this I think is my attention span is shorter than it used to.
I am sure that my tastes have changed since then but my favorite book back then was Catch 22 and my favorite author was Hermann Hesse. Other books I have really enjoyed have been:
– Pedro Páramo – Juan Rulfo
– Rayuela – Julio Cortázar
– The Name of the Rose – Umberto Eco
Most of the books I've read since then are a lot less complex like sports books, and rom coms which have been enjoyable but have no transcended.
I have a slight preference for women authors, a slight preference for something that feels adult rather than YA, a strong preference for fiction and no preference for specific genres. Extra points if the book can make me laugh at least once but not limited to anything marked as funny or comedic.

I also used to read 4 or 5 books per month, but now I barely read 1 or 2 per year.
As you tapped into a shorter attention span, Jonathan Livingston Seagull and Illusions by Richard Bach might be good to get back to book reading. These two are among my favorite books, and I like to read them whenever I feel a bit disoriented!
Thoughts on reading a classic booktok romantasy? I think the reason books like ACOTAR and Fourth Wing have gotten a lot of people back into reading is because they’re very easy to read, entertaining, laughable, and also just fun. Once you read a few and get the momentum rolling, it’s easier to pick up the habit again with richer and wayyy better reads imo!
