      I recommend reading short stories by a variety of authors. Story Sanctum has a good assortment to choose from. It’s a quick way to sample different writing styles quickly. You’re bound to find something you like there.

      For magical realism, The Storyteller’s Death and We Need No Wings (both by Ann Dávila Cardinal) are both way better than The Midnight Library.
