the witch’s heart by genevieve gornichec was my #1 favorite read in 2025. i love mythology retellings, i love greek myth but i LOVE norse myth more. the genre seems to be oversaturated with greek retellings and im struggling to find more norse retellings.
- i prefer when they aren’t modernized (no phones, no guns, etc).
- i want them to be serious retellings/reimaginings of the myths instead of comedic or romance-centered retellings (like neon gods, a touch of darkness, etc).
- i want them to have the same vibe as circe by madeline miller and ariadne by jennifer saint (also recent reads, but these are greek myth).
thanks in advance! 🙂
