I would like a book where the bad guy isn't the villain, it's not the kids who bully, but everyday life.
Where you turn the pages and feel how the protagonist is slowly changing because of depression and his light is fading.
I always wanted to know what life would be like for someone with that kind of depression. Could you please recommend one?

I don’t know of a book exactly like you describe, but if you’re into graphic novels I’d suggest *[Dying Inside](https://bookshop.org/p/books/dying-inside-hannah-klein/d2c2bb9db6854e44?ean=9781638492245&next=t&)*, which has handles the protagonist’s depression (and suicide attempt/ideation) pretty realistically, having them build up a support system that helps but doesn’t magically fix their depression (as the trope usually is).

The story literally starts with an (unsuccessful) suicide attempt so hold onto your hat and be aware that it can get very disturbing.
