I recently bought a paperwhite kindle and I'm looking through the recomemendations in the store under my favorite my genres (fantasy, mystery, thriller, horror) and it shows me those recommended books under the genre, but its more like romance or sex thriller type of books which isn't what I'm looking for… is there a section thats more meaningful and appropriate? Or even a classic books section?
And are half of the books on kindle unlimited mostly sex-romance related novels or something? Because thats what I'm primarily seeing.

I found a really good clean fantasy book that’s basically all story and action and nothing explicit. Message me if interested because MODs will just delete
Probably better off searching YouTube or your video platform of choice for terms like “best KU thrillers” and “KU hidden gems”. Once you start finding a few books that are more your thing and borrowing those, the Amazon suggestions will tend to get better (though there’s a bit of a tendency for it to suggest “why not continue this series?” when you haven’t actually READ the first one, just borrowed it among with 19 others…) I like romance that tends more towards the sappy than smutty (nothing wrong with the latter, I’m just not interested) and thrillers set in grotty English towns rather than glamorous US locations, and I mostly get recommendations for those – there’s still the odd suggestions for some mega popular author that I can’t stand, but broadly speaking the recs I get now tend to at least be under “I can see why the algorithm would expect me to like that” (I don’t get a lot of fantasy recs because I don’t read a ton of fantasy on my kindle, and what I do read is mostly not on KU)
