The title says it all. My step-daughter experienced severe sexual assault as a young child, age 6-9. It is currently coming back into light as the day quickly approaches where she will have to sit in a court room full of strangers to tell her story in front of the man who created this nightmare. I am in search of a single piece of literature to aid her in any way with emotionally coping during an unfathomable experience.
She enjoys books occasionally, though to my great dismay she has become partial towards Colleen Hoover. One title is all I can hope for her to consume. Please suggest your best

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
Know my name by Chanel Miller if you want to do nonfiction. Maybe it will maker her feel a little less alone during all of this.
This is a question for her therapist.
h{Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis}
What does her therapist say?
The Body Keeps the Score.
Maybe something escapist too? Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote for example.
Check out we are the evidence by Cheyenne Wilson. There is a whole section on going to court. None of this is easy. Thinking about you and your step daughter.
She needs therapy before she reads any book related to trauma
