I recently read K.A. Tucker’s “A Simple Wild” series and really enjoyed the character development and pacing. I didn’t however, love that both Calla and Marie’s stories ended with pregnancy and focused on having kids. I am happily childless and want to enjoy a well developed romance that doesn’t end in marriage, pregnancy or other stereotypical frameworks. I want the tension and characters and easy reading but can’t help but roll my eyes at single parent focus, “three months later she was pregnant” and “I found a diamond that made her hand drag” endings.

    1. If you’re okay with historical fiction with some magical elements (magic birds?), The Ornithologist’s Field Guide to Love by India Holton has a child free ending.

The Savior’s Champion by Jenna Moreci was a fun one – i believe the author is also happily childfree and writes from that lense
