Hey gang, looking for some good reccs but want to give you some parameters. About 6 months ago I lost my appreciation for fiction. I'm sure its temporary but that means most of my to-read stack is on the outs.

Can you suggest me non-fiction along these lines:

no biographies or self help. ugh

History is good, but along the lines of mysteries explained would be better.

Also like anthropology/human development. Especially our evolution vs. our current living environment examination.

Thanks you all in advance for your input.

    1. We Carry Their Bones was written by a forensic anthropologist about her struggle to locate, identify, and return to family the bodies buried at the infamous Dozier “reform” school. It’s got layers of mystery and history together that I think you’ll like.

    2. I recently enjoyed Myths of Geography: Eight Ways We Get the World Wrong by Paul B Richardson.

History/mystery with some great anthro about a very specific time or place (that really reflects the development of human civilization through the 20th century: Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe
