Hi! I tend towards super sad or dark books (loved Demon Copperhead, Hum, Transcendent Kingdom, Song of Achilles and God of the Woods most recently). It's hard for me to get into romance novels or some of the lighter things that people tend to like – like Emily Henry books for example.
So what are your favorite lighter books that still challenge you as a reader? Thanks 🙂

You might really dig The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – it’s got that juicy Hollywood drama but also tackles some heavy themes about identity and sacrifice. Also maybe try Klara and the Sun, it’s got this weird AI narrator that makes you think but isn’t a total downer
The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series by Alexander McCall Smith.
It’s so refreshing and wise in its simplicity.
