I am obsessed with reading books about utopias or books that imagine a better world or better systems than our own. I am interested in books that serve as thought experiments for what life could be like beyond the constraints of systems like capitalism, the patriarchy, racism, war, and more.
This obsessions started when I read The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin, in which she imagines what an anarchist society would look like.
Help me find more books like this please!
Here are others I’ve read so far:
– Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin (gender)
– The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula Le Guin (utopia)
– The Word for World is Forest by Ursula Le Guin (utopia, pacifism)
– Island by Aldous Huxley (utopia)
– Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy (utopia)
– Sky Full of Elephants by Cebo Campbell (race)
