Hello! Relatively new to Sci-fi, here’s what I’ve read:
– Dune 1-5: Incredible, goat
– Hyperion 1-2: Incredible, co-goat
– 3 Body Problem 1-3: solid, 7/10
– Foundation 1: not my cup of tea, 6-10
– Leviathan Wakes 1: decent but didn’t finish the series, 6/10
What else can you recommend? Anything like Dune/Hyperion obviously preferred since those are my favorites but also looking to hit all the ‘classics’ if that makes sense.
Thank you!

Humor based but also emotional and horror? Dungeon Crawler Carl.
Space opera but dystopian? Red Rising
Fantasy based? Mistborn
Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky
Neal Stephenson Snow Crash
WIlliam Gibson Mina Lisa Overdrive and really anything he’s written.
Jim Butcher Dresden File, urban fantasy rather than scifi
David Weber, Out of the Dark and its two sequels. I also love his Honor Harrington series but it’s not as hard hitting as those you’ve listed, where Out of the Dark is, IMO.
Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke
