Since I might not be able to watch the show soon and I'll miss it, I want to ask for books that have similar vibes. Some things I like about Princesses of Power are:
- all of the princesses have distinct powers and personalities
- initially isolated girls/women team up and became friends
- the dynamic/romance between Adora and Catra
- the people of color and queer fantasy characters
- Adora's found family, esp. with Bow and Glimmer, and the theme of redemption
- Adora questioning the system she was brought up in and realizing it was wrong
- a good amount of the Horde-allied characters have complicated motivations for being on that side instead of just wanting to be "evil" (ex. Entrapta, Double Trouble, Scorpia, Catra)
- For example, they might be with the Horde because of a desire for chaos, revenge, belonging, or progress
- the show's overall comforting vibes and optimism
Obviously, the book recs don't have to have all of this! Also, because this is a kids show, I'd like to request books where the main characters are at least teens (if not adults).
