My mom is currently obsessed with Chinese Short Dramas that have pocketbook plot quality. They tend to have a pitiful main character at first, then through regression/possession the main character sets out for revenge, romance comes second possibly only being a device for revenge (or entirely optional), believability and power-scaling doesn't matter as long as the overall plot is engaging and entertaining.
She listens to them as she goes about her daily chores. Her English is okay (we're not native speakers) she can listen and understand well, but would prefer for the words to be simple and not too turgid nor verbose.
So I'm thinking of buying her a bunch of audiobooks with similar themes.
Accepting as many titles and author recommendations as possible!
