Weird girl books that are also good literature?

I feel bombarded [0] with recs for ‘weird girl’ books [1], and the descriptions often appeal to me, but I always seem to bounce off when I try to read them.

Can you suggest weird girl lit that doesn’t just have wacky premises and problematic characters, but also actually holds up as good literature? That you think could really survive as classic literature one might want to read decades from now?

Like, you might want War and Peace as your one novel if you were stranded on a deserted island. But where’s the similarly complex marvelous novel with a peculiar premise featuring unhinged women? Is there a weird girl lit equivalent that could also fill that niche?
