I (M22) want to get back into reading and havent read a book of my own volition since middle school. Back then I read and enjoyed things like Animorphs, Percy Jackson Series and Heroes of Olympus Series, Gone Series and more I don't remember.
I watch a lot of movies, anime, and story driven video games, so I'm hoping to get some book recs with those in mind, and hopefully something not extremely dense since it's been a while. My best guess at genres I like is something like psychological horror and I enjoy most nerd properties like Marvel, DC, Star Wars etc.

Movies: Everything Everywhere All At Once, Rental Family, Interstellar, Sinners, Parasite, Dune (Should I read it if I've seen the movies), Godzilla Minus One, I'm Thinking of Ending Things, Sentimental Value, A Real Pain, The Whale, Banshees of Inisherin, Babylon, 28 Years Later, Anora
Games: God of War 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2, Last of Us, Control/Alan Wake
I particularly like the themes of Re:Zero, a Silent voice and God of War, but I don't really want self help books if that makes sense
