The ideal genre would be a legal thriller, but any kind of mystery/thrillers subgenres will suffice.
If it helps the book can be of any language on earth, not just English.
EDIT: I know of the blacklist s03e10, "The Director (No. 24): Conclusion," with the same plot, but not actually followed through. If it helps.
