I am looking for book recommendations similar to Nocticadia by Keri Lake and An Exorcism of Faeries by J. L. Vampa. I really love the dark academia aesthetic, specifically stories set at a university or college involving a student and a teacher or mentor romance. I am searching for books that have a strong mysterious Gothic romance atmosphere.
One thing I specifically enjoyed about these books was that the fantasy elements didn't require learning an entirely new world. I prefer stories that feel just like our world except for one specific supernatural or strange element. Most importantly, I am looking for a relationship dynamic that is intense and atmospheric but not abusive.
