I used to love to read but then life moved quickly and I didn't make time to read and here I am. Embarrasing to say, but I've maybe read 10 books cover to cover in the past 10 years. I desperately want to get back into reading and I want to find a great first book! I would appreciate any suggestions at all. I try every rec provided!
Some things I'm looking for:
– Character in their 20s (I know this is harder but this would REALLY help)
– First person POV
– I love a good slow burn or trope-ified romance element
– Some fun life or death dystopian esque plots (doesn't necessarily have to be a dystopian book but I want to be scared for these characters lol)
– I like a good urban setting – maybe even a magic, mystery, or game element? or urban fantasy?
Some books I enjoyed when I was younger and a similar age to the characters
– Maximum ride (before it got weird but I still read it all)
– Divergent (LOVED)
– One of Us is Lying (one of the 10 books I read in the past 10 years!)
– Unwind
– Percy Jackson (LOVED)
– City of Bones
– This is going back to when I was MUCH younger- but in case it helps- I remember being into the Candy Shop Wars, Winston Breen, the Benedict Society, the Candymakers, 39 clues
