So many zombie books and apocalypse books feature military specialists, law enforcement, or hard-core survivalists thriving in the chaos and swooping in to save the poor civilians. I would like to read about ordinary people using the skills they've got and figuring out how to survive. I am also very interested in non-American books.
I have very much enjoyed all of Sarah Lyons Fleming's books, especially The City series. I loved the way Max Brooks' World War Z was told from a wide variety of viewpoints from different countries.
