Hello everyone! I’m trying to branch out and discover more authors and books to read. Growing up, I had just a couple authors I would bounce between. I eventually got stuck on Dean Koontz in my late teens and basically didn’t read any other authors for a long time.
After I hit 20, I don’t think I read a book just for enjoyment for about eight or nine years. Then I discovered Stephen King and fell in love. So I’ve been going through his novels ever since and I’m getting near the end of my King list.
I heard about Swan Song by Robert McCammon and decided to finally take a little break from King and check it out. I fell in love with this book. It is absolutely amazing in my opinion. Before, I would’ve said The Stand was my favorite book of all time, but now I’m not so sure.
So I’m hoping for some suggestions that will leave me feeling like those books do and help me branch out to other authors. Doesn’t have to be apocalyptic or anything like that. Just a powerful story.
Some of my other favorite King books are Wizard and Glass, Needful Things, Under the Dome, 11/22/63, Desperation, Revival, Insomnia…
Some of the Koontz books I used to love are The Door to December, Phantoms, Strangers….
Hopefully this gives you something to work with. Thanks in advanced for any suggestions! I’m super excited to discover more!
