I read Wuthering Heights when I was 17 and loved it. What with everyone talking about it at the moment, I’ve really been wanting to re-read it. Unfortunately, I’m dealing with a lot of cognitive impairment due to chronic illness atm, and there’s no way I’d be able to navigate the more complex language in WH right now.
So I’m wondering if there are any good retellings with simpler language out there?
I’m looking for something literary that sticks pretty closely to the original and would still be considered gothic, but changes the setting/time period/context in some way.
I did google but couldn’t find anything that really matched that description.
