Please suggest a literary-ish historical fiction with a strong woman protagonist

Please suggest me a literary (or literary adjacent) historical fiction novel with a strong woman protagonist. I particularly like British settings. I have devoured the Maisie Dobbs series several times over, I have enjoyed Helen Simonson’s The Summer Before the War, and I just finished Joanna Miller’s The Eights. I particularly like 20th century Britain. I like cozy-serious, if that’s a thing. Something to make me think but also escape. Bonus points if there’s an audiobook version with a good narrator.
