I read As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow, by Zoulfa Katouh, and I felt like it really helped me understand the Syrian civil war in a way that occasional news reports really didn't.
I'm interested in reading a book from the perspective of a Venezuelan, either during or after the ~2010 economic collapse. I'm pretty open in terms of genre, as long as you think the book will help me "live through the crisis," so to speak.
Both Spanish and English-language recommendations are welcome.
