I recently read Tastes Like War by Grace M. Cho and Aftertaste by Daria Lavelle and would love more reads focusing on food. Can be either fiction or nonfiction.
Fiction: I loved Aftertaste for its food descriptions and the emotions and grief it touched upon. I've also enjoyed Sourdough by Robin Sloan and would even consider the Legends and Lattes Series by Travis Baldree a foodish book despite not having the story focus on food, it still has mouth watering descriptions.
Nonfiction: I've also read Crying in HMart by Michelle Zauner and Slow Noodles by Chantha Nguon. I've also read Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain but prefer a bipoc perspective.
preferably no cookbooks, but don't mind if the book happens to have recipes in it.
thank you for your suggestions!
