Hi folks; I’m an ADHD, picky reader who needs some recommendations. I loved titles like House of Leaves, Tender is the Flesh, Strange Houses, The Labyrinth House Murders, etc. because they truly grabbed my attention and I couldn’t sleep well until each story was complete.
I love books like HoL and LHM because I remained involved- looking for hints, unraveling the story myself, it felt like a game of Clue. Are there any recommendations like this for me?
I am completely disinterested in booktok-esque fantasy or romance. I love a well written (doesn’t mean it’s always healthy… just written well) romantic relationship within a book, but the storyline itself is rarely romantic (see: HoL’s relationship dynamics).
Any ideas? About to start Strange Pictures since I liked Strange Houses well enough- albeit the ending annoyed me.
