I'm looking for crime novels that fit the following criteria:
– include multiple cases, not just one big case
– show more realistic everyday lives of people working in law enforcement, not an over-exaggerated glamorous version
– character and relationship driven, with a focus on the law enforcement teams rather than the criminal or victim
– not a big focus on romance – fine as a subplot if it's realistic, but I don't just want to read about a bunch of sexy cops all sleeping together
Bonus points:
– show people working in areas that aren't often included in crime novels, e.g. data analysts, forensic linguists, psychologists, dispatchers.
– set somewhere other than the USA
– include less serious crimes as well as major ones
Examples of TV shows that would fit at least some of this would be things like The Rookie, Castle, Dexter.
