I just finished two books whose endings were not predictable, and I realized I love this in a book.
For context, some of my likes/dislikes:
Like: Victorian literature, contemporary fiction such as Kingsolver, Zadie Smith, Michael Chabon, John Irving; YA dystopia; early 20th C American Literature; Russian lit like Dostoevsky & Tolstoy; Dumas. Pillars of the Earth, Demon Copperhead, James, The Vanshing Half and Lonesome Dove are probably my top 5 books I read within last year.
Dislikes: modern romance, sci-fi, fantasy
Take it or leave it: mysteries, thrillers, magical realism, historical fiction, boring but sweet books like Anne of Green Gables and All Creatures Great & Small.
Thanks in advance. You all always come through for me. I've read at least 15-20 books in the past year that came from suggestions on this sub.
