I’m looking for book recommendations centered on pirates, seafaring life, and sailing ships-especially anything set in the age of sail.
Life aboard sailing ships (discipline, hierarchy, navigation, daily routines)
Naval warfare, privateers, and pirates
Exploration, long voyages, storms, survival at sea
Strong atmosphere and realism (salt, rope, cannon smoke, isolation)
Could be fiction or historical fiction if the quality is good.
I’ve enjoyed serious, immersive books in other genres and prefer grounded worlds over fantasy-heavy or overly romanticized stories.
Any classics, must-reads, hidden gems, or modern authors I should look into?
