I’ve been wanting to watch this for months and hadn’t found any screenings near me, but just got to watch a virtual screening tonight through Maryland Public Television, and it is a really good, powerful documentary about the modern book banning movement, the work of librarians and the impact that this movement has on them, etc.
I highly recommend it, and it is available starting February 9th. https://www.pbs.org/independentlens/documentaries/the-librarians/ It leaves me feeling very, very angry and concerned for the future, but why should this film be different from other current events I suppose.
(Not sure how to not sound like a shill, but I have no affiliation with the film, public television, or even libraries beyond being a patron and reader.)
